"All is Calm" is part of the Seasons of Generosity

"All is Calm" is part of the Seasons of Generosity Series, which is inspired by Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8, “for everything there is a season, and time for every purpose under heaven.” This series will feature
songs that are designed to fill your home with joy each season.

“All is Calm” is from Silent Night, which is emblematic of Christmas, where great beauty veils itself in humility to bring peace and joy to the world. It touches something deep inside us and reminds us of the simplicity of the season.

Stitch Count 183 wide x 111 high
Finished Size 10 1/8 x 6 1/8 inches
Fabric: 36 count Suede by Needle Bling Designs
Using one strands of floss over two strands of linen.
Floss used: Weeks Dye Works Cayenne. DMC 22, 347,
520, 610, 676, 844, 3051, 3052, 3865, Ecru
Framing: Thank you to Ramona Bishop at BENNET in Knoxville, TN for your framing expertise.

I knew when I released Go, Tell It On The Mountain

I knew when I released Go, Tell It On The Mountain that I couldn't stop there. When I released the first piece, which was used for the fundraiser, I wrote about a sense of hope in the darkness.
"I can just hear the shepherds and wise men as they left the manger, anxiously awaiting the next town they would enter so that they could spread the word of hope born in a dark night."
I didn't want to leave the story open. There had to be a finish. In designing, sets of three are always a completion. I knew I wanted to finish the famous Christmas chorus and decided that three pillows or ornaments, or whatever finish you should choose, would be perfect. The second release "Over the Hills" gives the destination for the instruction to "go" and that "He is Born" is the message of the assignment. It's the perfect layout for a Christmas display.
All three pieces are the same size and use the same colors, creating a simple and fun project with so much meaning for the season. It is my wish that you would take time to enjoy these stitches and bask in the beauty of the Christmas message, that hope was born in a dark night and shared with all who would receive it.

Fabric: 36 Baklava by Grace Notes Fabrics
Floss used: Classic Colorworks: Campfire, Hickory Stitcks, Pebble Beach, Pine Needles, Tea and Biscuits, Weeping Willow.
Weeks Dye Works: Whiskey
The Gentle Arts: Aged Pewter, Garden Gate, Chalk, Toasted Barley
DMC 936 was used to make the cording.

The decorative pins can be purchased from Jersey Girl Stitch Co. or Cross Stitch and Crafts. Teresa is donating proceeds of the purchase to Samaritan's Purse to help with Hurricane Helene Relief efforts.
